The Real Estate Company project is a multi-faceted, long-term engagement. But, it all began with a question, “Do you build real estate websites”?
The answer was to build a mobile-friendly, WordPress site that works beautifully on all devices using Showcase IDX, the best WordPress IDX plugin. The Showcase IDX plugin allows site visitors to search, save, share and discuss home listings using a local MLS. We iterated over the design to put the IDX tools upfront with high agent visibility and as much content “above the fold” as possible.
The Home Page
Most real estate websites have generic homepages. But let’s be honest, the real estate industry is all about the agents. They feature themselves on their business cards. So, the home page presents the latest listings by a team agent, queried dynamically using Showcase IDX. Next, we feature past sales (originally created for social media) to establish credibility”. Then we establish knowledge with a neighborhood grid that displays linked features to over 35 search engine optimized Atlanta neighborhood pages.

Intown Atlanta Neighborhoods
To get as much content “above the fold” as possible we used two slightly narrower columns across a wider horizontal screen space. The left column is a search engine optimized summary of the neighborhood and history with links to attractions and resources. The right column is a map-based search of the neighborhood’s current listings, sorted by most recently changed. All pages are search engine optimized and social optimized for sharing on Facebook and Twitter.

Team and Agent Pages
The team and agent pages take advantage of a wide format too. The team page uses two columns to display as much content as possible “above the fold”. The agent list is dynamically displayed
The agent page uses 3 columns to display all agent info “above the fold”. Agent profiles are managed using category-based posts extended with Advanced Custom Fields. The footer of each agent page contains thumbnail links to other team members.

The website was migrated from WPEngine hosting to Flywheel Hosting. Using Local by Flywheel, edits and updates are super fast with one-click deployments from desktop to Flywheel cloud.
Search Engine Optimization & Blogging
We’ve written many search engine optimized blogposts. Blogposts are analyzed until achieving an A-rating with Yoast SEO, the most popular WordPress SEO plugin. Search engine results (SERPs) are properly formatted with the desired information.
Social Media
We created multiple social campaigns for Facebook and Instagram. Agents were extracted from quality portrait photography so that their likeness could be used in broader marketing campaigns. A “local” campaign of Atlanta history and trivia was created as well. Posts offered followers simple comparisons and choices for easy engagement. Each post had all the necessary Hashtags for increased visibility.
